Kate Riley works and lives on Gadigal land, in the inner west of Sydney, Australia. Her initial creative career was in graphic design, but after several years and two children she decided to realise a long-held dream and study art. In 2009, she completed an honours degree in Fine Art at the National Art School, majoring in printmaking.
Her art-making practice now includes her love of traditional crafts such as hand-stitching and knitting, as well as drawing and printmaking.
In addition to art-making, she now runs Tiliqua Tiliqua in Enmore with her partner, Felix Oppen. Tiliqua Tiliqua is a combined gallery space and art-making studio which hopes to nurture creative people who want to express themselves in a multitude of mediums and methods.
